Sam Acton Talks Domestic Angels: Franchising and Flexibility

Sam Acton Talks Domestic Angels

If you’re considering a Domestic Angels franchise and want to understand a bit more about the business, and the person behind it this conversation is a good place to start.

Our founder, Sam Acton, sat down with Julie from Runo Franchising to talk about where Domestic Angels came from, why she eventually chose franchising, what they’ve learned along the way and why people and relationships still sit at the heart of the business.

What do we talk about?

Quite a lot, as it turns out. 😊

We go right back to 2002, when I started Domestic Angels after returning to work following maternity leave. I didn’t have a grand plan to build a business. In fact, it took me years to properly admit to myself that I had one.

We talk about why I initially had what I can only describe as an “allergic reaction to franchising” and what eventually changed my mind.

Julie also asks some of the questions that matter if you’re considering becoming a franchisee yourself, including how we build our territories, why our Angels are employed rather than self-employed, what your role as a franchisee actually looks like, and the support you can expect from us.

And we talk about something that’s particularly important to me: the relationship between us and our franchisees.

We can give you the brand, training, systems, processes, mentoring and support. But building the business still needs your energy, time and commitment.

It’s a two-way street.

Why is Domestic Angels a little different?

Because we’re in the business of humans.

That affects everything from how we choose territories to how we support our Angels and franchisees.

As I tell Julie in the interview, I really respect the trust somebody puts in me and Domestic Angels when they decide to come on board.

There may be wobbles. There may be things you’ve never done before.

We’ve got you. We’ve got your back.

So, if you’re trying to decide whether Domestic Angels and franchising could be right for you, grab a cuppa and have a watch.

And if it leaves you with a question?

Ask.

The only daft question is the one that hasn’t been asked.
