At Domestic Angels, we believe that every person deserves fairness, dignity and respect at work. Those values guide every decision we make and every policy we create.
This month we have taken another step to recognise that belief by introducing our Modern Slavery Statement. We have done this voluntarily, not because legislation requires it, but because doing the right thing matters.
Why This Matters
The UK Government only requires organisations with an annual turnover above £36 million to publish a Modern Slavery Statement. Domestic Angels operates well below that figure, yet we chose to act.
The domestic cleaning sector can be vulnerable to exploitation and unregulated practices. From the very beginning we decided to stand apart from that culture. Every Angel is employed directly on a fair contract, with background checks and proper protections in place.
Our statement makes these commitments visible and reinforces the standards we expect across our franchise network.
Our Commitment

Our Modern Slavery Statement confirms that:
-
All Angels are employed directly by their franchise business.
-
Every team member has a fair, compliant contract with transparent pay and conditions.
-
Our supply chain is small and low risk, but we continue to check it carefully.
-
Concerns are always taken seriously, supported by a clear whistleblowing policy.
By putting these practices in writing, we protect our Angels, our customers and, just as importantly, our franchisees.
What This Means for Our Franchisees
As franchisor, part of the role is to handle the big responsibilities so our franchisees can focus on running their businesses with confidence.
Legal compliance, safeguarding, fair employment and policy writing can be complex and time-consuming. We take care of these areas at network level so that each franchisee starts from a position of strength. They can build their business knowing that our ethical standards are already in place and recognised publicly.
Doing what is right is not only about serving customers well, it is about protecting the people who represent our brand every day.
A Message from Our Founder
“The domestic cleaning industry can be vulnerable to the black market, and we have always wanted to do things differently,” says Sam Acton, founder of Domestic Angels.
“Employing our Angels properly and treating them fairly has always been part of who we are. Introducing a Modern Slavery Statement shows our franchisees that these safeguards are already built in, so they can focus on growing their business with confidence.”
