Tell us a bit about yourself and what you were doing prior to becoming a Domestic Angels franchisee?

Hello, my name is Clare, I started my journey as a franchisee with Domestic Angels in November 2019, prior to this I had a childcare background being an early years professional for around 20 years I owned two very successful childminding businesses. This worked really well being a single parent when my daughter was young. As she grew older I realised working extremely long hours with young children wasn’t working with my work and home life balance.

Why did you go down the franchise route? And why did you choose a Domestic Angels franchise?

Being a business owner previously I knew I had the skills and confidence to own and run another, just didn’t know in which field, until I came across an advert to become a franchisee with Domestic Angels. The working from home and managing a cleaning company sounded perfect for me. Because I didn’t have experience in professional cleaning or employing people I knew I’d get all the support from the company having years of experience under their belt, rather than going it alone. After meeting Sam and the other franchisees, I knew I’d fit right in!

Has becoming a Domestic Angels franchisee changed your life, if so how?

I now love what I do, I can work my hours around my personal life and commitments. I have many loyal and grateful clients who have now become like family. It’s so satisfying getting great feedback from them and having amazing “Angels” on my team.

What is the most invaluable piece of advice you could give someone looking to buy their first franchise?

Choose your territory wisely. Learn the skills of professional cleaning so you can hand down and instruct your Angels to be the best.

In your opinion, what makes a successful franchisee?

Some knowledge of running a business is a good asset, however you do get loads of support with this. Being a people person, you will need to have a good repour with customers and your employees.

What are your plans for the future?

Build my business up, possibly invest in a second territory and employ someone to take over some of the running/managing of the business.
